Mr Big

Mr Big is a gorilla whose size terrifies everyone he encounters - leaving him deeply alone and lonely. He buys a piano and plays out his sadness - creating melodies that drift across the city and catch the ears of the coolest jazz trio in town...This is one of my very favourite books for 3-5 year olds - and a rare kids book for celebrating jazz. Its ultimate message is the gateway to empathy: don't judge people by their appearance because they may be very different from what your prejudice tells you. Recommended for cool cats everywhere.
