Mr. Lincoln's Way
Submitted 5 years 9 months ago by rdeberardinis.
As in most of Patricia Polacco's books (check them out!), Mr. Lincoln's Way embraces the themes of diversity, empathy and community. Mr. Lincoln is the school principal who all the kids love except for Eugene, who has a difficult time accepting differences in people and so acts out as the school bully. Mr. Lincoln does a remarkable job of viewing life through the bully's eyes and eventually forges a good relationship with Eugene, helps the students understand the roots of his behavior and helps Eugene expand his worlview.
