The Day It Rained Hearts

One day it rains hearts and Cornelia Augusta catches them - then starts to turn them into gifts for her animal friends, each gift suited to the taste and character of each friend. It's a very simple and short story, ideal for reading to 3-5 year olds, and it makes a nice introduction to talking with children about making and giving gifts and how to think about what other people might like.
