The Octonauts and the Frown Fish
The Octonauts are a team of undersea animal explorers in search of adventure, but always at the ready to help other sea creatures. One day they encounter a fish that is constantly frowning. They do everything they can think of to cheer him up - desperately trying to empathise and by doing what they think he might like - but to no avail: his frown deepens. Finally Professor Inkling the Octopus realises that he isn't frowning at all - he's actually a catfish that swims upside down, and so has a big smile on his face. This story is literally about learning to see the world from the perspective of others. And since the Octonauts are such popular characters in books and on TV, it's great to see them star in a story that teaches perspective taking. Lovely picture book to read to children ages 3-6.
