This is a novel about daily life in a poor quarter of a small town near Munich, seen through the eyes of a young German girl called Liesel. She arrives there traumatised by the death of her younger brother and her separation from her mother.
Festen is film about one Dannish aristocrate family. It shows Christian's, son of a "head" of a family, struggle to point out
all the worst things that happened when he and his sisters were growing up. It's set on a wedding day one of his sisters.
