Mog in the Dark
Submitted 6 years 4 months ago by Kate Raworth.
Mog is a family cat - not very smart but very loveable. Out in the dark garden one night her head fills with fears, and her vivid imagination sets off some wild, even frightening, dreams. The story is told through Mog's thoughts, as if spoken in her own words, and we empathise with her moments of disorientation in the dark. This picture book is a lovely way for 3-5 year olds to get into imagining the lives of animals, and ultimately to get into understanding the minds of others. There is no great twist, no lesson to learn - just the voice of a scatty cat inviting us to see the night garden through her eyes.
