Life Lessons from Bergson

One of the School of Life series, this is a great introduction to a French philosopher, Henri Bergson. He's not someone I'd heard of, although he was a contemporary of William James. The emphasis of his work is on process and the unpredictability of life, which is a great perspective to take, especially in terms of empathy, because it makes us consider how difficult it is to make plans - and how difficult this is for everyone. To an extent, we are all subject to forces beyond our control, and we should accept that and make the most of the here and now - not least because we can change neither the past nor the future. And neither can anyone else.
