This video from Save the Childeren has gone viral and rightly so. It's part of their Syria appeal and shows a young girl in London whose life is turned upside down when her city descends into civil war. At the end it says: 'Just because it isn't happening here doesn't mean it isn't happening.'
It's a classic empathy appeal, where we are asked to step into the shoes of child war victims in Syria. And it's amazing that it's got so many views. A lot of people say we are suffering from 'empathy fatigue' - we have seen so many images of suffering that they no longer make an impact on us any more. But I think this video reveals that empathy still has enormous power to move us.

War comes to London
Great use of empathic narrative to wake us up to the human tragedy of the Syrian war.
